Roles & Responsibilities
- Supports the Procurement Manager in the development and implementation of GZI's procurement strategies, policies, manuals and standard operating procedures.
- Ensures strict team-wide adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
- Coordinates the analysis and monitoring of current and future procurement requirements, aligning team plans with corporate objectives.
- Engages the business to identify key procurement priorities and ensures purchases are made at competitive prices.
- Enforces short turn-around times for processing requisitions and purchase orders, and monitors team workload and capacity.
- Leads and oversees Request for Proposals RFP compilation, supplier response evaluation and negotiation of pricing, terms, and long-term purchasing agreements.
- Manages key supplier relationships to deliver excellent operational performance in cost, service, and quality.
- Monitors to ensure that delivered goods are inspected to conform with the specifications on the order.
- Drives ongoing cost reduction and process simplification initiatives across the team's category portfolio
- Identifies, mitigates and escalates procurement risks - supply, currency. logistics and supplier ESG risk-to the Procurement Manager to protect business continuity.
- Documents, implements and maintains the CAN requirements of the Quality, Food Safety, Environment, Health and Safety management systems
Requirements
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelors Degree or HND in Engineering, Economics or Supply Chain Management, Business Studies or a related field
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years' experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
- At least 2-3 years of team-lead experience, including direct supervision of procurement staff
