Job Description
- We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable indigenous Oil & Gas company for an experienced and commercially Astute Supply Chain Manager.
- The successful candidate will lead the company’s supply chain operations, ensuring the efficient procurement, movement, storage, and delivery of materials, equipment, and services neededto support business and field operations.
The Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business and operational objectives.
- Lead procurement, strategic sourcing, logistics, inventory, warehousing, and materials management activities.
- Manage supplier and contractor relationships, including vendor evaluation and performance monitoring.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, service agreements, and other commercial terms with suppliers.
- Ensure timely sourcing and delivery of critical materials, equipment, and services.
- Monitor inventory levels, stock accuracy, warehouse operations, and material availability.
- Coordinate logistics and transportation requirements for operational and field activities.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and monitor supply chain expenditure against budgets.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, QHSE requirements, and applicable Oil & Gas regulations.
- Monitor supply chain risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Prepare management reports and provide insights on procurement, vendor performance, inventory, and supply chain efficiency.
- Lead, supervise, and develop members of the supply chain team.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Projects, Finance, QHSE, and other departments to ensure effective operational support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience, with significant experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proven managerial experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, or materials management.
- Professional certification such as CSCP, CPIM, CLTD, CIPS, CILT, or equivalent is required.
- Strong knowledge of procurement, contract management, inventory, warehousing, logistics, and vendor management.
- Excellent negotiation, leadership, analytical, communication, and cost-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of NipeX/NJQS and Nigerian Content requirements will be an advantage.
- Experience supporting field operations, projects, maintenance, or production activities is highly desirable.
- Experience with POS Systems and inventory management
