Power Plant Operator (Wartsila Gas Engine)

Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled Power Plant Operator with hands-on experience operating and maintaining Wartsila gas engines in an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the power plant, monitoring engine performance, supporting routine maintenance, and ensuring reliable power generation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Wartsila gas engines, including engine start-up, shutdown, and generator synchronization.
• Monitor engine performance and operating parameters to ensure safe and efficient power generation.
• Understand and monitor the engine's low-temperature LT and high-temperature HT cooling water circuits.
• Perform routine engine inspections and operational checks.
• Support preventive and corrective engine maintenance activities.
• Identify and report engine faults, alarms, and abnormal operating conditions.
• Ensure compliance with plant operating procedures, safety standards, and maintenance requirements.

Requirements

• HND in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in a power plant within the FMCG or manufacturing industry.
• Hands-on experience operating Wartsila gas engines is mandatory.
• Practical knowledge of engine start-up, shutdown, and generator synchronization.
• Understanding of LT/HT cooling water circuits and engine maintenance.
• Good troubleshooting, monitoring, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work safely and support reliable, uninterrupted plant operations.
