Job Summary
- The IP Network Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing our Core, Aggregation, and Edge Service Provider IP networks.
- You will manage large-scale routing protocols BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS architectures, and peering connections to ensure maximum network uptime, scalability, and security for high-speed internet and enterprise customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Core Architecture & Routing: Design, configure, and maintain high-speed ISP core networks running BGP eBGP & iBGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS L2VPN, L3VPN, VPLS, EVPN.
- Transit & Peering Management: Manage Internet Exchange Point IXP peering sessions, upstream IP transit providers, traffic engineering, and BGP community policies.
- Network Infrastructure & Deployment: Provision, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise-grade routing and switching hardware Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Mikrotik, Arista.
- Troubleshooting & Escalations: Serve as Tier 3/4 escalation support for complex IP network incidents, routing loops, fiber cuts, DDoS attacks, and packet loss issues.
- Network Security: Implement network security practices, including BGPsec, RPKI, uRPF, firewall filters/ACLs, and automated DDoS mitigation mitigation strategies.
- IP Address Management IPAM: Manage IPv4 and IPv6 allocations, subnetting, and registration with Regional Internet Registries RIRs like ARIN, RIPE, AFRINIC, APNIC.
- Capacity Planning & Optimization: Monitor network performance, traffic trends, and link utilization to proactively recommend capacity upgrades and topology enhancements.
- Automation & Scripting: Automate routine network configuration, audits, and deployments using Python, Ansible, or Network Configuration Protocols NETCONF/RESTCONF.
Qualifications
- Interested candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor`s Degree with 3 years experience.
