POSITION OVERVIEW
The Fund & Investment Manager will provide strategic and hands-on leadership in the management, performance, growth and governance of DPH's investment and fund portfolios. The role is responsible for developing and executing investment strategies across equity, fixed income/debt, private markets and other approved investment instruments, while ensuring optimal risk-adjusted returns, capital preservation, liquidity and compliance with applicable regulatory and investment mandates. The successful candidate will oversee the full investment lifecycle, including investment research and origination, due diligence, financial and investment analysis, portfolio construction, execution, monitoring, valuation, performance measurement, reporting and exit strategies. The role will also play a key part in identifying and converting new investment opportunities, strengthening institutional and investor relationships, and expanding the firm's assets under management AUM and investment portfolio.

Beyond portfolio management, the Manager is expected to contribute meaningfully to DPH's broader commercial objectives by developing strategic investor and institutional relationships, identifying new investment products and markets, strengthening the firm's investment proposition and positioning DPH as a trusted and high-performing investment partner. The successful candidate must demonstrate measurable results, independent judgement, professional integrity and the ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels while working closely with Executive Management and other business units. RESPONSIBILITIES
Investment Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Develop, recommend and implement investment strategies aligned with DPH's investment objectives, risk appetite, fund mandates and overall business strategy.
- Manage and optimise assigned investment portfolios across equity, fixed income/debt, private equity/private credit, structured products and other approved asset classes. Establish appropriate portfolio allocation strategies to achieve targeted risk adjusted returns while maintaining adequate liquidity and capital preservation.
- Conduct continuous portfolio reviews and rebalance investments where required based on market conditions, risk considerations, investment mandates and performance.
- Monitor portfolio concentration, exposure limits, liquidity, duration, counterparty risk and other relevant investment parameters.
- Develop investment theses and portfolio strategies for both new and existing investments.
- Establish appropriate benchmarks and performance indicators for each portfolio or investment mandate.
- Identify opportunities for portfolio enhancement, restructuring, refinancing, divestment or exit where appropriate.
- Maintain a disciplined investment process that supports sustainable long-term portfolio growth.
Equity Investment Management
- Lead the identification, assessment and execution of equity investment opportunities across listed and private companies.
- Conduct and oversee detailed equity research, valuation and investment analysis.
- Evaluate company fundamentals, management quality, business models, competitive positioning, market dynamics and growth prospects.
- Prepare investment cases, valuation models, investment memoranda and recommendations for Investment Committee/Management approval.
- Monitor the financial and operational performance of portfolio companies and identify opportunities to enhance value.
- Develop and implement appropriate shareholder engagement and portfolio value creation strategies.
- Monitor corporate actions, dividend policies, capital raises, rights issues, mergers, acquisitions and other material developments affecting equity investments.
- Develop appropriate exit strategies, including trade sales, secondary transactions, strategic sales, IPOs or other liquidity events.
Debt & Fixed Income Investment Management
- Identify and evaluate debt, fixed-income and structured credit opportunities in accordance with approved investment mandates.
- Assess issuers, borrowers and counterparties, including their financial strength, repayment capacity, creditworthiness and risk profile.
- Analyse government and corporate bonds, commercial papers, treasury instruments, private debt, structured notes and other approved fixed-income instruments. Conduct credit analysis, cash-flow assessment, debt-service analysis, covenant review and scenario/stress testing.
- Evaluate pricing, yield, duration, maturity, liquidity and risk-adjusted returns before investment decisions.
- Monitor debt portfolios for credit deterioration, covenant breaches, repayment risks and other early-warning indicators.
- Work with relevant teams and counterparties on loan/debt restructuring, refinancing, recovery and exit strategies where required.
- Ensure appropriate diversification and exposure limits across issuers, sectors, instruments and maturities.
Investment Origination & Portfolio Growth
- Proactively originate and develop a robust pipeline of investment opportunities capable of delivering attractive risk-adjusted returns.
- Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, fund sponsors, corporates, financial institutions, DFIs, family offices, private equity firms, asset owners, brokers and other investment ecosystem participants.
- Identify emerging sectors, asset classes and investment themes that align with DPH's strategic objectives.
- Develop investment opportunities from origination through due diligence, approval, execution and portfolio management.
- Support the firm's efforts to increase Assets Under Management AUM, Assets Under Advisory and overall investment income.
- Develop strategies for attracting new investors and mandates, subject to applicable regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Business Development, Corporate Finance, Research, Securities, Legal, Compliance and other relevant teams to convert investment opportunities into executable transactions.
- Maintain an active and well-qualified investment pipeline with clear probability, value and execution timelines.
Investment Research & Due Diligence
- Conduct comprehensive financial, commercial, operational, market and investment due diligence on prospective investments.
- Review financial statements, management accounts, business plans, forecasts, capital structures and other relevant information.
- Develop and review financial models, valuation models, scenario analyses and investment return projections.
- Assess market trends, macroeconomic developments, interest rates, inflation, exchange rates, sector dynamics and other factors affecting investment performance.
- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Risk and external advisers on legal, regulatory, tax, technical and other specialist due diligence.
- Identify material investment risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Ensure investment decisions are supported by robust, objective and adequately documented analysis.
Fund Management & Investor Relations
- Support the establishment, structuring and management of investment funds and other investment vehicles in accordance with approved mandates and applicable regulations.
- Ensure fund activities are managed in accordance with investment objectives, fund documentation, internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor fund performance, NAV, liquidity, subscriptions, redemptions, distributions and other relevant fund metrics.
- Prepare periodic fund and portfolio performance reports for management, investors, trustees, regulators and other stakeholders as required.
- Maintain strong and professional relationships with investors and provide accurate, timely and transparent investment information.
- Support investor reporting, presentations, investment updates and periodic portfolio reviews.
- Assist in fundraising initiatives, investor presentations and capital mobilisation activities.
- Work with trustees, custodians, fund administrators, auditors and other service providers to ensure effective fund administration and governance
Regulatory & SEC Compliance
- Ensure all fund and investment activities are conducted in compliance with applicable Securities and Exchange Commission SEC rules, regulations, guidelines and directives, as well as other applicable Nigerian financial-market regulations.
- Maintain a strong understanding of SEC requirements relating to fund management, portfolio management, investment products, reporting, custody, valuation, disclosure and investor protection.
- Ensure investment activities remain within approved regulatory, contractual and internal limits.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and records for regulatory examinations, audits and internal reviews.
- Work closely with Compliance and Legal to identify and address regulatory and compliance risks.
- Support the preparation and submission of required regulatory reports and returns within stipulated timelines.
- Maintain awareness of changes in SEC regulations, CBN policies, tax regulations, capital market rules and other regulatory developments affecting the firm's investment activities.
- Ensure appropriate KYC, AML/CFT, CDD and investor onboarding requirements are observed in collaboration with relevant functions.
Investment Risk Management
- Establish and maintain appropriate risk parameters for investment portfolios.
- Identify, assess, monitor and report market, credit, liquidity, operational, concentration, counterparty and other investment risks.
- Conduct periodic stress testing, sensitivity analysis and scenario analysis on material portfolios and investments. • Ensure investments remain within approved risk appetite and investment guidelines.
- Develop appropriate risk mitigation and contingency strategies.
- Escalate material investment, portfolio or market risks to Executive Management and the Investment Committee promptly.
- Maintain appropriate controls to protect investors' capital and DPH's investment interests.
Investment Committee & Governance
- Prepare high-quality investment papers, memoranda and presentations for consideration by the Investment Committee and Executive Management.
- Present investment recommendations, portfolio reviews, performance reports and risk assessments to relevant governance committees. • Ensure all investment decisions are appropriately documented and supported by requisite approvals.
- Participate actively in Investment Committee deliberations and provide objective, commercially sound investment advice.
- Track approved investment decisions through execution and ensure conditions precedent and post-investment requirements are properly monitored. Maintain an effective investment governance framework that promotes accountability, transparency and disciplined decision-making.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Establish and monitor portfolio performance against approved benchmarks and investment objectives.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual portfolio performance reports.
- Track key performance indicators including AUM, investment returns, IRR, MOIC, yield, realised/unrealised gains, portfolio income, liquidity and risk metrics, as applicable.
- Analyse portfolio performance against market benchmarks and identify areas requiring corrective action.
- Provide regular market and portfolio intelligence to Executive Management.
- Produce forward-looking investment outlooks and recommendations based on market conditions and portfolio positioning.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Provide leadership, coaching and technical direction to investment professionals within the Fund & Investment function.
- Establish clear objectives, performance standards and accountability for team members.

QUALIFICATIONS & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Minimum Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Investment Management, Economics, Business Administration or a related field will be an advantage.
Professional Experience
- 10–20 years of relevant professional experience in fund management, asset management, investment banking, private equity, investment management, portfolio management, securities or a closely related financial-services environment.
- Demonstrable experience managing investment portfolios across equity and debt/fixed-income instruments.
- Proven track record of investment origination, portfolio growth and delivery of risk adjusted investment returns.
- Experience in investment analysis, valuation, financial modelling, due diligence and transaction execution.
- Experience working with Investment Committees, institutional investors, trustees, custodians and other capital-market stakeholders.
- Experience in a SEC-regulated investment management environment is strongly preferred.
Regulatory/Professional Certification
- SEC registration/licensing relevant to the role is required, subject to the specific regulated activities and applicable SEC requirements.
- Professional qualification in investment management, finance, accounting or a related field will be an advantage, including CFA, CIS, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies will be an advantage.
