About the Role
- The Fraud Intern will support the in monitoring transactions, investigating suspicious activities, and assisting with fraud prevention initiatives.
- This role provides hands-on exposure to fraud detection processes, case management, reporting, and regulatory compliance within a structured financial services environment.
- This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented and analytical individual to gain practical experience in fraud risk management and financial crime prevention.
What You’ll Do
Transaction Monitoring & Review:
- Monitor customer transactions and system alerts to identify suspicious or unusual activities.
- Escalate potentially fraudulent cases to senior team members for further investigation.
- Assist in reviewing flagged accounts and documenting findings.
Investigation Support:
- Support preliminary fraud investigations by gathering relevant data and transaction history.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and update internal tracking systems.
- Assist with customer verification and follow-up where required.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare daily and weekly fraud monitoring reports.
- Maintain proper records of fraud cases and resolutions.
- Support data analysis to identify fraud trends and patterns.
Process Improvement & Compliance:
- Assist in reviewing fraud prevention controls and procedures.
- Support implementation of updated fraud policies where required.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory guidelines.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with Operations, Customer Service, Technology, and Risk teams.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to fraud awareness initiatives.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of fraud risk or financial crime concepts is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other basic reporting tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
