JOB PURPOSE
To support the development and implementation of corporate affairs, public relations, and communication initiatives that enhance Mandilas Group Limited’s corporate reputation, strengthen stakeholder relationships, promote its diverse business interests, and reinforce its position as a trusted provider of innovative lifestyle solutions. The role supports corporate communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement, brand reputation management, corporate events, and corporate social responsibility initiatives across the Group’s business operations, including Mobility, Automotive, HVAC-R and Cooling, and associated businesses. The job holder ensures that corporate communications reflect the Group’s strategic objectives, brand standards, and core values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Corporate Communications and Brand Reputation
- Support the development and execution of corporate communications plans aligned with the Group’s business strategy, vision, mission, and values.
- Prepare and coordinate corporate announcements, press releases, management messages, speeches, newsletters, corporate profiles, presentations, and other communication materials.
- Promote awareness of the Group’s products, services, business milestones, partnerships, corporate achievements, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure consistency in corporate messaging, visual identity, and brand representation across all business units and communication platforms.
- Coordinate the collection and publication of approved business success stories, customer initiatives, employee achievements, and corporate milestones.
- Maintain an organised repository of approved corporate information, photographs, publications, and communication materials.
Media Relations and Public Relations
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with relevant media organisations, journalists, industry publications, and communication partners.
- Coordinate media engagements, interviews, press briefings, product launches, exhibitions, and corporate publicity activities.
- Develop media briefs and background information for authorised management spokespersons.
- Monitor media coverage relating to Mandilas Group, its business units, products, services, industry developments, and relevant competitors.
- Prepare periodic media monitoring reports and recommend initiatives to strengthen the Group’s public image.
- Ensure that media enquiries and requests for corporate information are handled promptly and escalated for approval where necessary.
- Support the management of negative publicity, customer-related reputational concerns, and other sensitive communication matters in collaboration with relevant departments.
Stakeholder Engagement and Corporate Affairs
- Support the identification, mapping, and engagement of key stakeholders, including business partners, customers, industry associations, government institutions, regulatory bodies, community representatives, and other relevant organisations.
- Coordinate stakeholder meetings, official visits, corporate correspondence, relationship-building activities, and follow-up actions.
- Support the Group’s participation in relevant industry forums, trade associations, business events, exhibitions, and corporate engagements.
- Monitor developments within the automotive, mobility, cooling, HVAC-R, and related industries that may affect the Group’s reputation, operations, or business relationships.
- Prepare stakeholder briefs, engagement reports, and management updates on relevant corporate affairs issues.
- Maintain accurate stakeholder records and ensure that engagement activities are conducted in accordance with approved corporate policies and delegated authority.
Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability
- Support the planning and implementation of approved corporate social responsibility, sustainability, environmental, and community development initiatives.
- Coordinate approved programmes relating to education, community support, employee volunteering, environmental responsibility, and other relevant social impact activities.
- Liaise with internal departments and external partners to facilitate the implementation of approved initiatives.
- Document programme activities, outcomes, participation, and impact for management reporting and corporate communications.
- Promote awareness of the Group’s responsible business practices and sustainability initiatives through approved communication channels.
- Ensure that all CSR commitments and public representations are consistent with approved budgets, policies, and management directives.
Corporate Events, Protocol and Business Support
- Coordinate corporate events, product launches, exhibitions, conferences, management engagements, official visits, and other approved corporate functions.
- Support the Group’s participation in automotive, mobility, HVAC-R, cooling, and related industry events.
- Coordinate event logistics, invitations, guest lists, venue arrangements, branding materials, photography, protocol, and post-event communications.
- Liaise with internal business units, event vendors, media partners, and other service providers to ensure effective event delivery.
- Prepare event budgets, monitor expenditure, and submit post-event reports in line with approved procedures.
- Ensure that corporate events appropriately reflect the Group’s identity, standards, and professional image.
Digital Communications and Corporate Content
- Support the development and publication of approved corporate content across the Group’s website, social media platforms, newsletters, and other digital communication channels.
- Coordinate with Marketing, Sales, IT, and relevant business units to ensure the accuracy and consistency of corporate information published externally.
- Monitor public engagement, media mentions, online feedback, and other relevant indicators of corporate visibility.
- Support the preparation of content showcasing the Group’s products, technical capabilities, customer service, aftersales support, business partnerships, and corporate achievements.
- Ensure that published materials comply with brand guidelines, information security requirements, confidentiality obligations, and approval procedures.
Corporate Reputation and Issues Management
- Identify and escalate potential reputational risks arising from media reports, stakeholder feedback, customer concerns, industry developments, or public commentary.
- Support the preparation of approved responses, briefing notes, holding statements, and other communication materials for sensitive issues.
- Work with relevant departments, including Legal, Human Resources, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, and Operations, to ensure that communication responses are accurate and appropriately coordinated.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure that only authorised personnel communicate official Group positions on sensitive matters.
- Support the implementation of corporate communication protocols, brand guidelines, and reputational risk management procedures.
Reporting, Administration and Compliance
- Prepare periodic reports on media coverage, corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, events, CSR initiatives, and other assigned activities.
- Maintain accurate records of corporate affairs activities, correspondence, media contacts, event expenditure, and stakeholder engagements.
- Monitor assigned budgets and expenditure in accordance with approved financial controls and procurement procedures.
- Ensure compliance with the Group’s policies, delegated authority framework, brand standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the line manager.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Corporate Communications, English, Journalism, or another relevant discipline.
- A relevant professional qualification or membership in a recognised public relations, marketing, advertising, or communications body will be an advantage.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of four 4 to six 6 years of relevant professional experience in corporate affairs, public relations, corporate communications, media relations, or marketing communications.
- Experience in corporate event coordination, stakeholder engagement, media monitoring, and corporate reputation management.
- Experience in a diversified business group, automotive, engineering, manufacturing, trading and distribution, mobility, or HVAC-R environment will be an advantage.
- Demonstrable experience in preparing professional corporate communication materials and coordinating internal and external stakeholders.
