Job Position: Structural Engineer

Job Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Job Responsibilities

1. Monitor daily structural construction activities and ensure they are carried out in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
2. Inspect structural works including foundations, columns, beams, slabs, reinforcement, formwork, blockwork, and other structural elements.
3. Verify reinforcement placement, sizes, spacing, concrete cover, formwork, levels, dimensions, and other structural requirements before concrete is poured.
4. Ensure that construction teams follow approved construction methods and technical instructions.
5. Monitor the quality of concrete, reinforcement steel, formwork, and other structural materials used on-site.
6. Coordinate and supervise concrete casting activities, including ensuring proper preparation, placement, compaction, and curing.
7. Identify defective, substandard, or non-compliant work and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
8. Ensure that construction work conforms to approved structural drawings and applicable building standards and regulations.
9. Work closely with the Builder and Site Foreman to coordinate daily structural activities and resolve site-related issues.
10. Monitor the progress of structural works against the approved construction programme.
11. Review and verify work completed by contractors and subcontractors before approval or certification.

Job Qualifications 

1. Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant experience in structural/site construction supervision.
3. Experience working on building construction projects is highly desirable.
4. Professional registration with COREN or relevant professional membership is an added advantage.
