Operations Support Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and technical support across facilities, equipment, and client sites.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Assist in identifying, diagnosing, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Liaise with technical teams, field technicians, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely resolution of operational and maintenance issues.
  • Monitor maintenance activities and follow up on outstanding jobs to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, job reports, and other operational documentation.
  • Support the development and implementation of maintenance schedules and operational procedures.
  • Track equipment maintenance needs and escalate recurring faults or major technical issues to the Operations Manager.
  • Assist in coordinating the availability of tools, materials, spare parts, and other resources required for maintenance activities.
  • Monitor compliance with established operational procedures and applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental HSE standards.
  • Identify operational challenges and recommend practical solutions to improve efficiency and service delivery.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • A good degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum of two 2 years’ relevant experience in operations support, technical support, maintenance coordination, facilities management, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, for reporting and documentation.
  • Ability to coordinate maintenance activities, monitor job progress, and follow up on outstanding technical issues.
  • Good organizational, time-management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively with technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational efficiency, workplace safety, and compliance with established procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
