Lead Electrical Engineer

  • We are seeking a highly experienced, technically proficient, and results-driven Lead Electrical Engineer to lead its Electrical Engineering and Design Unit. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Electrical Engineering and Design Unit and coordinate all electrical engineering activities and deliverables across projects.
  • Develop discipline scopes of work, design basis documents, technical specifications, project proposals, resource plans, man-hour estimates, and delivery schedules.
  • Manage electrical engineering budgets, material quantities, project costs, schedules, productivity, and changes in project scope.
  • Perform and review electrical engineering calculations, including load assessments, short-circuit studies, protection coordination, and voltage-drop calculations, using applicable engineering software.
  • Prepare, review, and interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications, datasheets, and vendor documentation.
  • Conduct technical bid evaluations, review vendor offers, recommend technically compliant vendors, and prepare Technical Bid Analysis reports.
  • Coordinate effectively with clients, Project Management Consultants PMC, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve technical queries and obtain approvals.
  • Lead vendor kick-off meetings, design reviews, technical clarifications, progress monitoring, and reviews of vendor deliverables.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests FAT, Site Acceptance Tests SAT, and other inspections to verify compliance with project specifications.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and design optimization strategies without compromising safety, quality, or technical integrity.
  • Conduct interdisciplinary design reviews and ensure timely issuance of all project deliverables.
  • Support business development and tendering activities through technical proposals, scope definition, man-hour estimation, and schedule development.
  • Monitor project KPIs, engineering productivity, milestones, change tracking, schedule performance, and dashboard reporting.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, promote technical knowledge sharing, and drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and best practices.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Extensive relevant experience in electrical engineering and design, preferably within the oil and gas, EPC, industrial, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience leading electrical engineering teams and managing multidisciplinary project deliverables.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering design calculations, applicable codes and standards, technical specifications, and engineering software.
  • Proven experience in vendor evaluation, technical bid analysis, design reviews, FAT/SAT, and client/PMC interface.
  • Experience in project planning, cost control, resource management, change management, and engineering productivity monitoring.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality engineering outputs within agreed budgets and schedules.
