Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Head, Commercial Finance & Procurement Performance to ensure that business growth translates into sustainable profit and cash.
- The role will focus on the economics of growth by driving margin optimisation, landed cost, procurement performance, inventory efficiency, working capital, and profitability, while complementing the existing Finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Own unit economics across products, projects, channels and major transactions, with clear contribution and profitability views.
- Own gross-to-net revenue analysis and quantify the impact of discounts, rebates, commissions, logistics and project-specific costs on realised margin.
- Set and monitor commercial margin floors with Finance and commercial leadership, and escalate transactions that destroy value.
- Review labour, installation, project and service costs so that quoted margins reflect true delivery economics.
- Analyse landed cost by SKU and shipment, including supplier price, FX, freight, duties, clearing and directly attributable costs.
- Own supplier and procurement economics, including payment terms, volume breaks, total landed cost and commercial trade-offs.
- Drive inventory economics: stock turns, ageing, slow/dead stock, reorder points, stock-out risk and capital allocation to higher-return SKUs.
- Analyse cost of funds and ensure pricing, purchasing and working-capital decisions reflect the real financing burden.
- Produce recurring profitability reporting by transaction, SKU/category, brand/channel and business unit, with clear management actions.
- Perform other commercial finance and procurement duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
- 7 to 10+ years in commercial finance, FP&A, procurement finance, business performance, supply-chain finance or a closely related role.
- A professional finance qualification is an advantage, but evidence of commercial impact is more important than credentials alone.
- Strong experience in unit economics, pricing/margins, landed cost, procurement, inventory, working capital, and profitability analysis.
- Comfortable in import-heavy, inventory-heavy or project-based businesses where FX, freight, clearing and funding materially affect margin.
- Advanced analytical and financial-modelling capability, with the ability to convert analysis into commercial decisions rather than reporting only.
- Strong stakeholder influence across Sales, Procurement, Operations and Finance.
- Experience in FMCG/manufacturing, building materials, industrial products, electronics distribution, real estate/interior systems or comparable sectors is an advantage.
- Preferably a female candidate for gender balance.
