About the Role

  • Reliable Steel and Plastic Industry Limited is seeking a motivated and technically inclined Graduate Trainee – IT to join our team in Onitsha.
  • The successful candidate will support the IT department in maintaining the company's computer systems, network infrastructure, printers, peripherals, and other IT equipment. This role is ideal for a young IT professional who is eager to build strong practical experience, develop professionally, and grow within a structured manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Local Area Networks LAN.
  • Perform basic LAN wiring, cable termination, connectivity testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot printers, monitors, computers, scanners, and other IT peripherals.
  • Provide first-level technical support to staff and resolve hardware and software-related issues.
  • Assist with the installation and configuration of operating systems, applications, and computer peripherals.
  • Monitor network connectivity and escalate complex network or system issues when necessary.
  • Carry out routine preventive maintenance on computers and other IT equipment.
  • Maintain proper records of IT assets, equipment repairs, installations, and technical issues.
  • Assist in IT asset inventory and ensure proper handling and utilization of company IT equipment.
  • Support users with basic software, email, printing, connectivity, and system-related issues.
  • Assist with data backup, system updates, antivirus installation, and basic IT security practices.
  • Support the implementation of IT policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Provide technical assistance during meetings, training sessions, and other company activities when required.
  • Assist with other IT projects and assignments as directed by the IT Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Must have completed NYSC and possess a valid NYSC discharge/exemption certificate.
  • 1–2 years of practical experience in IT support, networking, or a related technical role.
  • Practical knowledge of LAN installation, wiring, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of printers, monitors, computers, and other IT peripherals.
  • Good knowledge of Windows operating systems and common office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other departments.
  • Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and develop professionally.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be willing to relocate to Onitsha, Anambra State.
  • Must be available and willing to attend a physical interview in Onitsha.
