Field Agent (Merchant Onboarding)

Job Summary

• The field agent is responsible for signing up individuals, phone shops and device sellers to our live device registry product and getting them to actively use it. This is an active, people-facing, field role and will primarily be in assigned market clusters in Lagos.

Responsibilities

• QVisit phone shops and device sellers in assigned market clusters, working systematically shop by shop.
• Explain the product clearly and honestly, leading with the merchant's own concerns e.g. how to know stock isn't stolen.
• Sign merchants up on the spot and set up their accounts with them.
• Help merchants register their device inventory so their accounts are genuinely active, not just created.
• Build relationships with merchants and encourage ongoing use, including issuing certificates to buyers at point of sale.
• Keep simple, accurate daily records of shops visited, shops signed and devices registered, and report them.
• Represent the company professionally and honestly at all times - this is a trust-focused product.

Requirements & Experience

• OND, HND or BSc in marketing or any related field
• Prior experience in field sales, merchant acquisition or agent networks e.g. POS/fintech agent work is an advantage.
• A confident, personable communicator, comfortable approaching merchants and selling by being genuinely helpful.
• Self-motivated and disciplined - able to manage their own day in the field with limited direct supervision.
• The ideal candidate must be honest and reliable.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
• Comfortable using a smartphone to demonstrate the product, register devices and record activity.
• Fluent in English and one other local language commonly spoken in the target markets.
