Key Responsibilities
- Design, review, and supervise electrical installations for residential, commercial, and other building projects.
- Prepare and review electrical drawings, layouts, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Oversee the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems.
- Coordinate electrical works with structural, mechanical, architectural, and other project teams.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with approved drawings and applicable regulations.
- Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure adherence to project specifications, safety requirements, and deadlines.
- Identify and resolve electrical design and site-related technical issues.
- Review electrical materials, equipment, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Monitor project progress and prepare technical reports as required.
- Ensure proper implementation of electrical safety standards and relevant building codes.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the construction, real estate, or building services industry.
- Professional registration with COREN or eligibility for registration will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant electrical design and engineering software.
- Sound knowledge of electrical installations, power distribution, lighting systems, earthing, lightning protection, and backup power systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications, and building plans.
- Experience in site supervision, contractor coordination, quality control, and project documentation.
- Good understanding of applicable electrical standards, building regulations, and health and safety requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while meeting project deadlines.
