Job Summary
- The Director, Directorate of Health Services is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the University Health Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Chief Medical Administrator of the University Health Services
- Coordinate day-to-day operations of the University Health Services;
- Provide strategic leadership and implement health policies;
- Ensure compliance with regulations and supervise the medical registration of staff and students;
- Advise University Management on health policies; and
- Perform any other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor.
Qualifications / Requirements
- First Degree in Medicine M.B.B.S from a recognised institution;
- Evidence of one year's housemanship, plus NYSC Discharge / Exemption Certificate;
- Fellowship of National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria;
- Duly registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria MCN plus a current practising license;
- Minimum of fifteen 15 years' post-qualification cognate experience;
- Must have served for a minimum of three 3 years as a Deputy Director of Health Services in a comparable institution;
- Proficiency in the use of ICT;
- Public Health / Family Medicine qualification is an added advantage.
Age Requirement:
- Candidates must not be above the age of sixty 60 years as at November 2026.
Tenure:
- The Director, Directorate of Health Services shall hold office for a Single Term of five 5 years only on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment.
Remuneration
- The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post of Director in Nigerian universities and as may be determined from time to time by the Governing Council, as appropriate.
