Purpose
- To provide IT support across a broad range of technologies and collaborate with various business units to resolve incidents, service requests, and technical issues promptly.
- The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of desktop systems, peripherals, and end-user technology services while minimizing business disruption and maintaining high service standards.
The Job
- Providing timely resolution of IT incidents and minimizing downtime affecting end-user services.
- Installing, configuring, and supporting desktop computers, laptops, telephony systems, wireless networks, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Performing desktop support activities, including desk-side technical assistance where required.
- Maintaining desktop infrastructure through routine maintenance, upgrades, patches, releases, and hot-fixes.
- Monitoring endpoint security compliance, including operating system updates, antivirus definitions, and other approved compliance standards.
- Documenting, logging, tracking, and escalating incidents in line with established support procedures.
Requirements
Qualification:
- Ordinary National Diploma OND or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience:
- At least one 1 year of relevant desktop support or IT support experience in a medium-sized organization.
The Person Must:
- Possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Be customer-focused with a commitment to delivering excellent user support.
- Have the ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage multiple support requests.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
