Deposit Mobilization Officer (Microfinance Bank)

Locations: Ojo, Sangotedo, Ikeja, Oshodi, Epe, and Lagos Island - Lagos

Job Summary

• An established Microfinance Bank is seeking experienced, results-driven Deposit Mobilization Officers to drive deposit growth across its branches in Lagos.

Responsibilities

• Mobilize savings, current, and fixed deposits from individuals, SMEs, corporate clients, traders, and other business customers.
• Leverage an existing customer base and established business relationships to generate and grow deposit portfolios.
• Proactively acquire new depositors while maintaining and deepening relationships with existing customers.
• Meet monthly deposit mobilization targets and maintain the required average and closing deposit balances.
• Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective depositors to support consistent deposit inflows and portfolio growth.
• Develop relationships with market associations, business owners, corporate organizations, and other potential deposit sources.
• Monitor customer deposits, follow up on maturing fixed deposits, and encourage renewals and additional placements.
• Provide regular reports on deposit performance, customer acquisition, pipeline activities, and progress against assigned targets.

Requirements

• OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Marketing, Economics, or another relevant discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in deposit mobilization within a microfinance bank, commercial bank, or fintech.
• Existing customer base or demonstrable access to depositors who can support immediate and sustainable deposit growth.
• Proven ability to meet monthly deposit mobilization targets and maintain required average and closing deposit balances.
• Ability to demonstrate a realistic plan for achieving monthly deposit and sitting balance targets, supported by an existing portfolio, strong business relationships, or a credible pipeline of prospective depositors.
• Strong sales, negotiation, networking, and customer relationship management skills.
• Good understanding of savings, current, and fixed deposit products.
• Target-driven, proactive, and capable of working with minimal supervision.

Important:

• Candidates must be able to demonstrate their capacity to deliver on assigned deposit targets, not merely express a willingness to mobilize deposits.
• An existing customer portfolio and strong relationships within business and commercial markets will be a significant advantage.
