Core Network Engineer

 Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, monitor, and optimize core network infrastructure for high availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents, serving as a key escalation point.
• Monitor network performance, including latency, packet loss, and throughput.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, VPNs, and IPS/IDS solutions.
• Support network security and ensure configurations align with required standards and policies.
• Participate in network upgrades, new technology deployments, capacity planning, and infrastructure projects.
• Implement network automation and monitoring solutions to improve efficiency.
• Maintain accurate network documentation, procedures, and technical records.
• Support disaster recovery and risk mitigation initiatives.
• Collaborate with other technical and business teams to ensure reliable service delivery.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers where required.

 Requirements & Skills

• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
• Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and load balancers.
• Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, IPS/IDS, and network security.
• Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible and/or Python.
• Knowledge of VoIP, LTE/5G, or mobile core technologies is an advantage.
• Strong network troubleshooting and performance analysis skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CCNP/JNCIP are an added advantage.
